Lately, I’ve been thinking about how much of life happens in the ordinary moments.
Not the milestones. Not the big celebrations. Not the moments that get posted on social media.
I’m talking about the quiet moments in between.
The first sip of coffee before the day begins.
The sound of rain against the window.
Finding an old photo tucked inside a book.
Watching the sunset from the porch after a long day.
It’s easy to overlook these small experiences because they seem so ordinary. But when I look back on some of my happiest memories, it’s often these simple moments that stand out the most.
I think that’s one reason I love writing women’s fiction and contemporary romance. My favorite stories aren’t just about major life events. They’re about the everyday moments that shape who we become. A conversation over dinner. A walk through town. A shared laugh that turns into something more.
Life doesn’t always change in dramatic ways. Sometimes it changes through small acts of kindness, quiet realizations, and tiny moments of joy.
I’ve been trying to pay more attention to those moments lately, and it’s amazing how much richer life feels when I do.
So tell me: what’s one small thing that brought you happiness this week?
